Youth Groups

Waivers are required for every person who enters the building. Please have EVERYONE fill out waivers prior to your event date. You will also receive the waiver link in your confirmation email.  https://waiver.roller.app/skateworldsandiego/ 

We STRONGLY recommend signing it in advance as it is the biggest slow down during party check ins and we want everyone to get skating as soon as possible. EVERYONE regardless if they are skating or watching must sign a waiver to enter the building. 

Facility rentals are offered on weekdays when we’re not open to the public, with time slots from 10 am–12 pm, 12–2 pm, or 3–5 pm.

You can choose a shared rental, which is limited to three organizations at a time, so there’s plenty of room for everyone to skate and have fun. If you’d like a fully private event, just select the 50-person package plus at least 51 additional guests to guarantee exclusivity.

Fundraisers take place Thursday and Friday evenings from 5–8 pm during our all-ages public session.

Discounted group rates are available on weekdays from 12–4 pm during holidays and school breaks.

We follow the San Diego Unified Calendar. Holidays and school breaks may affect availability 

We will play Top 100 from 80’s-today hits during all events. While we do take requests we cannot guarantee that we will be able to play them because of the appropriateness of the song, time constraints, or unavailability of the song in our system. 

Skating games are fun at Skateworld! We usually play Red Light Green Light or Limbo as well as skating activities like the Cha Cha Slide, Hokie Pokie, Cupid Shuffle, etc.

Arrival time is 15 minutes prior to the start of your event. Your event/rental time begins immediately at your scheduled event time. All guests must vacate the building no later than 5 minutes after the scheduled end time of your event. Failure to do so will result in an additional hourly charge equal to half the cost of your event.

We cannot accommodate early arrivals beyond the 15 minutes prior to your event time. We will ask you to return to your vehicle or come back closer to your event time. Please note that we ask that you meet outside 15 minutes prior to your start time to give our staff time to help you gather your group all together in order to enter the building right at your scheduled time.

The minimum cost for a shared rental is $500 for up to 50 people. The minium cost for a private rental is $755 for up to 101 people. 

This discounted rate is only offered to youth groups, schools, non profits, youth camps, scouts, boy/girls clubs, and daycares. It is not available for corporate events, teams, large groups, etc. Must show proof through EIN/Business License/etc.  A 25% deposit is required to book (non refundable after 48 hours).

Everyone attending your event counts toward your guest total, whether they’re skating or not (except for any free adult chaperones included in your package). Any guest over the first 50 admissions will be charged $5 each, regardless of whether they skate.

​To help prevent any problems, and for the safety of your youth skaters, you are required to bring enough adults to assist your group. We recommend a 1:5 ratio: 1 adult for every 5 students in the group. You are required to have at least one adult for every 10 students. To help with offsetting the cost of this we offer 5 adult chaperones free of charge. Any additional adults will be charged full price whether they skate or not. 

Groups including youth guests with disabilities may bring one adult per student needing assistance at no extra cost. 

No substitutions allowed, the packages cannot be changed. (i.e. you cannot sub the adult chaperones for youth tickets.)

Outside sack lunches are allowed, as long as they are individually pre-packed and the group agrees to clean up after themselves, only eat at their designated tables, and designated food time. No other outside food, drinks, coolers, or ice are allowed, except for bottled water.

Only schools, non profits, youth camps, boy/girls clubs, youth sports teams and daycares may book at this discounted rate. Not available for birthday parties, corporate events, large adult groups, etc. You must be prepared to show proof through EIN/Business License/etc if requested.

A full refund is available within 48 hours of booking, as long as the booking is made more than 7 days before the event. After 48 hours, no refunds are available.

Customers can request modifications, upgrades, or date changes up to 7 days before their event.

With proper notice, we’re happy to reschedule your event for up to six months from the originally scheduled date. If you choose not to reschedule, your deposit will be forfeited.

A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking (non refundable after 48 hours). The remaining balance is due upon check-in of your event, and can be paid via credit/debit card, cash, or business check (no personal checks). Failure to provide payment may result in immediate cancellation of your event in progress. 

We allow Purchase Orders to any organization who has held an event and paid their invoice in full at Skateworld in the last 5 years. Invoices are due no later than 7 days after your event takes place.

If you book 101 admissions (the 50-person package plus at least 51 additional admissions), your group gets the entire facility all to yourselves for your two-hour event. The 5 free chaperones don’t count toward this total. Once your exclusive event is booked, we’ll adjust the total guest count closer to your event date. Please note, if fewer guests attend on the day of the event, you will still be charged for the 101 admissions required for a private event. 

Parking is available in the front parking lot, behind the rink by the Linda Vista Library, and in the grocery center. Please refrain from parking in front of any businesses with marked stalls.
