Adult Roller Derby

  • Who Can Join

Ages 6–17. Skaters need to have passed Level 3 of Skate Academy. From there skaters will enter the program in the Fundamentals of Derby class.

    • Wrist guards
    • Mouthguard
    • Quad roller skates

Levels of Play

We will offer three levels of play to meet skaters at their development stage and competitive goals:

  • Fundamentals of Derby Ages 6-17

A focused class for newer or returning skaters to fine-tune the skills required to be a safe and effective derby player. We emphasize core strength, body positioning, transitions, stops, skating in tight spaces, quick movements, and building confident muscle memory for gameplay scenarios.

    Prerequisites:

Completion of Skate Academy Level 3,

    OR

Approval based on prior experience (case-by-case review)

  • Starbursts Ages 6-9

Depending on participation, we may form in-house teams, explore regional travel, and schedule fun scrimmages to introduce younger skaters to the sport.

  • Shooting Stars Ages 10+

For skaters ages 10 and up working toward full contact and advanced gameplay.

Focused on gaining experience through scrimmages and regional competition.

Will play regionally in Southern California and may travel as far as Arizona.
