Skateworld San Diego is a family run business that prides itself on creating an enjoyable, safe space for skaters and families to skate and groove- no matter what age
Hours
Everyone through the door pays admission whether they are skating or not except for non skating adults chaperoning a child under 18. All youth ages 17 and under must be accompanied at all times by an adult ages 21+ on Fridays and Saturdays after 5pm. Schedule is subject to change without notice.

Lunch Time Skate $15
Available for ages 18+, this lunch time skate plays 70's, 80's, and 90's music in addition to top 40's hits. Admission $15 and Skate Rental $5.
**In the event that we have a Facility Rental or holiday schedule, our Lunch Time Skate will end at 12pm. Our staff will be sure to let you know when you check in.

We offer advance online ticket sales for admissions to sessions, but advance purchases are not required.
The snack bar is open for purchases, and as usual no outside food or drinks are allowed in the building except for a personal water bottle. No cakes, decorations, presents, etc allowed unless you have a reserved party at Skateworld.
Parking is available in the front parking lot, behind the rink by the Linda Vista Library, and in the grocery center. Please refrain from parking in front of any businesses with marked stalls.

Learn the basics
Skate School divides classes based on age and skill and focus on helping you be a safe skater! Learn basics like forwards, backwards, crossovers, and transitions.
Skate rental
While every Skate School lesson comes with skate rental, if you need to purchase skates we have a skate shop courtesy of Fritzy's Roller Skate Shop located inside the rink!
Private Lessons
Interested in private lessons with just you and an instructor? These are the best way to advance your skating skills quickly. We highly recommend joining us for at least one Skate School lesson. It's a fantastic opportunity to meet our awesome instructors, get a feel for their teaching style, and arrange your personalized lesson with the instructor of your choice.
Speed Skating
Join us every Saturday from 8 to 10 in the morning for Speed Skating practice suitable for all ages! No prior experience needed – the only prerequisite is being able to skate 5 laps unassisted. Your first class is on the house, simply apply the code "SYNERGY" during checkout.

Check your skates
Checking your toe stops, wheels, and laces before skating is very important so that nothing on your skates comes lose or falls off as you are skating.

Good skating stance
Bend your knees over your toes and take small walking steps on the carpet before trying the rink. If you feel like you're going to fall, grab your knees

Use caution
Be sure to step safely onto the floor, looking in all directions for hazards. Always skate in the correct skating direction.

Don't carry children while on skates
Never, under any circumstances carry anyone while on skates.

Follow all rules and regulations. If a skate guard gives you directions, it is for your safety.

We are saddened to hear that San Diego is likely heading back to the purple tier (1) and therefore making it unlikely that we could reopen before the end of the year. It has been a while (six months) since we have skated here at Skateworld San Diego. It has been six months since our employees have had a steady paycheck. It has been six months of us following every guideline and mandate without question. It has been six months of paying rent to the City with no discount or relief. As roller skating has exploded we have remained closed with no opening day in sight, the looming jump back to the purple tier would make the SOONEST we could open 63 days away, but that is unlikely due to the varying spikes in cases. We are not allowed to be open in any capacity as we are specifically called out by the state and Governor Newsom to not open until the yellow tier(4). We are worried and scared for roller skating and other small businesses in California. We want to stay safe and can easily and efficiently implement safety procedures to make skating possible. What do we do? How as a business are we expected to stay closed for over 8+ months and expected to survive? We miss you and want to keep providing active, healthy, and family oriented entertainment for years to come. We have started on the path towards classification as a fitness facility with the state, but it takes time, “knowing someone”, and money that is wearing thin after all these months closed. We aren’t sure what the next steps are but we are going to fight like hell to get back to roller skating.Button -

Hello skaters we are just sending you an update as we have received a lot of emails and messages about opening. As you can see across the country a lot of skating rinks have opened but here in California we are still not able to return to operations. With the new color coding that Governor Newsom has mandated for California Roller Rinks are in a Yellow Category for reopening. Most counties being in Purple or Red, Yellow is the last color on the list to open. Right now it takes 21 days to have a county move to a different color with % cases getting smaller and smaller before doing so. We didn’t think that in March we would still be here closed going into October but here we are. COVID-19 Update As always, our first priority is the safety and well-being of our customers and staff. We are monitoring the situation and following all recommendations provided to us by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local agencies in order to make the best decisions for our community. We have implemented additional cleaning protocols including how we hand out skates, how we play our games, and additional cleaning throughout the rink. We are saddened to hear that San Diego is likely heading back to the purple tier (1) and therefore making it unlikely that we could reopen before the end of the year. It has been a while (six months) since we have skated here at Skateworld San Diego. It has been six months since our employees have had a steady paycheck. It has been six months of us following every guideline and mandate without question. It has been six months of paying rent to the City with no discount or relief. As roller skating has exploded we have remained closed with no opening day in sight, the looming jump back to the purple tier would make the SOONEST we could open 63 days away, but that is unlikely due to the varying spikes in cases. We are not allowed to be open in any capacity as we are specifically called out by the state and Governor Newsom to not open until the yellow tier(4). We are worried and scared for roller skating and other small businesses in California. We want to stay safe and can easily and efficiently implement safety procedures to make skating possible. What do we do? How as a business are we expected to stay closed for over 8+ months and expected to survive? We miss you and want to keep providing active, healthy, and family oriented entertainment for years to come. We have started on the path towards classification as a fitness facility with the state, but it takes time, “knowing someone”, and money that is wearing thin after all these months closed. We aren’t sure what the next steps are but we are going to fight like hell to get back to roller skating.Button -

Hello skaters we are just sending you an update as we have received a lot of emails and messages about opening. As you can see across the country a lot of skating rinks have opened but here in California we are still not able to return to operations. With the new color coding that Governor Newsom has mandated for California Roller Rinks are in a Yellow Category for reopening. Most counties being in Purple or Red, Yellow is the last color on the list to open. Right now it takes 21 days to have a county move to a different color with % cases getting smaller and smaller before doing so. We didn’t think that in March we would still be here closed going into October but here we are. COVID-19 Update As always, our first priority is the safety and well-being of our customers and staff. We are monitoring the situation and following all recommendations provided to us by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local agencies in order to make the best decisions for our community. We have implemented additional cleaning protocols including how we hand out skates, how we play our games, and additional cleaning throughout the rink. At this time we will remain open to our customers, though we will limit the total amount of people into our building to 250. Priority will be given to pre-booked birthdays and groups.
